Choose Your Hero Wisely
All 5 character classes will be playable in the beta test: the dual-wielding barbarian, the fearsome witch doctor, the elementally adept wizard, the dexterous monk, and the notoriously deadly demon hunter. Each character brings the pain to the demons and undead of Sanctuary in unique and spectacular ways.
Who’s Afraid Of The Big Bad Skeleton King?
Evil is alive once more in the bowels of the Tristram Cathedral as the once-vanquished Skeleton King returns to plague the tiny village with gruesome horrors. The beta will pit players against this returning Diablo villain as they battle to restore peace and tranquility to New Tristam — and to finally put the tortured soul of King Leoric to rest.

Make It Your Own
Each character is brimming with possibilities. Which potent combination of skills, weapons, armor, and enhancements will you assemble? With countless ways to customize each hero, players will definitely get a taste of what it means to be unique in the Diablo III beta test.
A good Diablo 3 Guide will teach you how power leveling is highly desired by many when it comes to playing Diablo 3.
A player might be tempted to spend a lot on cash on items since the auction house in Diablo 3 allows them to use real money to buy items (with Blizzard getting a cut from every transaction).
The best gear may produce better results. However, spending too much money on gear in the auction house is not the best way to do so even if you have all the money in the world to spare. At the end of the day, it is better to save that money because there are many ways to get the best gear in the game using the natural way shown in many Diablo 3 guides.
For starters, questing in the right direction offers a better progression for each character even if going back to the same spot as before and killing the same monster over and over again seem very enticing.
Blizzard has changed the way the game runs now and the guides that worked for Diablo 2 no longer apply to the Diablo 3 Guides.
The returns on ‘boss runs’ is not the same as well because Blizzard is now encouraging players to diversify their playing style rather than go for repetitive grinding.
Ultimate Diablo 3 Guide
You can also consider other diablo 3 guides written by experienced players as they reveal what is the most effective path one must undertake if they do not wish to beat around the bush. This is also very effective for players who do not want to spend 16 hours in front of the computer each day to level up.
I soon discovered the very secrets from this diablo 3 guide that the pros out there keep to themselves. It’s almost like a Diablo 3 syndicate out there. People don’t know all the nooks and crannies on the map and the pros take advantage of these secret spots to get the best items
The story of Diablo 2 starts exactly after the end of the older game, the original Diablo, right after an “unnamed hero” defeated the lord of terror, Diablo. In the first part, Diablo was placed in the world of Sanctuary, watching the eternal war between Heavens and Hells. The high Heavens were led by the Angiris Council, which tried to kill, over the last hundred of years the Prime Evils hoards.
The hero who defeated Diablo in the original game, fell prey to the Diablo’s desires and moved the demon’s soul stone into his forehead. This act made Diablo stronger with many more abilities for a new fight.
Now, the player has the role of an adventurer that shows right in the middle of the destructions provoked by Diablo and he will try to find out the causes. He will start with some questions addressed to the corrupted warrior who defeated Diablo in the previous game. The warrior will tell him that he will have to find Diablo and kill him, so that the order can be established again.
The player will go through 4 acts and he will need to fight the Prime Evils, hoards of monsters that protect the road to Diablo. The Prime Evils are grotesque monsters with special and super powers that will try by any method to stop or even kill the courageous player. Before the great meeting with Diablo, the player will have to fight first with the two lesser evils that were once a part from the Hell’s lead organization. Baal and Mephisto were released from the soul stone by Diablo. The player has to take this step because he needs to learn how to avoid the mistakes of his predecessor and to stay out from corruption. The Lord of Destruction and the Lord of Hatred learned the corruption art from angel Izual himself. If the player will reach and succeed in slaying Mephisto and Baal, he will be able to fight against Diablo. The story will continue in the 3rd part of the Diablo series, where Baal will go and try to corrupt the mythical World Stone.
At the start, the player can choose the race that he would like to join. Unlike the original game, Diablo 2 provides some reasons to choose a specific class, depending on the player’s preferences and personality.
The oracles of the Amazons foretold that the final battle when mankind would at last be free of angelic and demonic manipulation was at their hand. The Barbarians dream to a final battle in which they will be key players and will decide the fate of the entire world. The necromancer are allied with the forces of Light and fight against the grown power of Evils. During the inquisition, the Paladins were blamed because they fight for Mephisto, the only true cause that deserve this entire bloody crusade. The sorceresses posses true and powerful spells and they decided the last to join the battle against the corruption of the Evil forces.

Diablo is a hack’n slash action Role Playing Game (RPG) that was released in late 1996. And almost all gamers who like to play RPGs, have become a fan of it in a very short time. Then, in summer 2000, came the second title in the series, Diablo 2, which later became the favorite game of millions of gamers worldwide for many years. Even now, after more than 10 years, a large number of people continue playing this game and its various mods created by many fans.
Blizzard Entertainment, the creator of Diablo series, made an announcement on June 2008 that turned millions of fans’ dreams into reality. They said that they had been developing the third game and trying their best to make it the best hack’n slash RPG ever.
While we are waiting for the release of Diablo 3, let me talk about what is so special about Diablo series, especially Diablo 2, that even after 10 years, the game is able to make itself played by a large number of gamers.
As a long term Diablo 2 player, I can say that this game has the right combination of characteristics an action RPG should have in order to keep the interest of the player alive for a long time. The first thing I want to mention is the story of the game. I really don’t remember another game with such an interesting and captivating story. The game starts with an opening cinematic which tells the beginning of the story. Even at that instant, you can feel the greatness and the charm of the game. As you proceed through the acts, by the way there are 5 acts including the expansion, new cinematic videos continue telling the story creating an increasing curiosity and attention. I am quite sure that most of the Diablo players have watched those videos countless times to better get into the game world.
The game has three difficulty options as normal, nightmare and hell; where normal is the easiest and hell is the hardest. Once you complete the game in a difficulty level, the next one will be unlocked and you can continue playing with your character but this time with an increased difficulty and a more challenging world. Better items and greater fun comes with the increased difficulty, and that is the main point that makes gamers play it again and again.
As in all other RPGs, there is a leveling system in Diablo 2 as well. You gain experience by killing creatures and once you have enough experience, your character levels up. There is a level cap in Diablo 2, which is 99, and the game developers had implemented a unique idea which I find to be very successful. It is close to impossible to get to level 99, let me explain it like this: The amount of experience you need to gain a level, increases exponentially with each level and although the amount of experience you gain in the increased difficulty areas increase as well, after a certain point, (like around level 80) it takes more and more time to level up. This is brilliant right? What else could keep the players’ focus on the game?
The item system in Diablo 2 is also a really unique and wisely crafted part of the game. Just like the three difficulty levels in the game, items also have three levels as normal, exceptional and elite. At the beginning of the game, you start with getting normal item drops and as you progress in the game and level up, item levels as well as their quality also increases. In my opinion, this system simply is what made Diablo 2 that much successful.
Additionally, all that magic, rare, unique and set items; miscellaneous gems, runes and the limitless combinations you can create, enrich the game and take it to a level where you will not get bored even after hundreds of hours of gameplay.
You now have a better idea about Diablo 2 and I highly suggest you try it if you haven’t yet. I am sure you will like it if you are on good terms with action RPGs. Besides, it will be a good idea to do so before Diablo 3 comes out.
All the things that I mentioned above imply that the new game will have to be a better one in all aspects like difficulty balance, leveling, story and items. Besides, after two and a half year, Blizzard Entertainment has not announced Diablo 3 release date yet and this proves one thing: They are working really hard to create a great game that will make all the fans happy. After watching the gameplay trailers, one thing we can be sure about is that the game will be in 3D and we will see a lot of wonderful effects. Although Diablo 3 system requirements are not known yet, I am sure that they will do their best optimizing the game so that a great percentage of players will not have to upgrade their PCs.
The third in its series, World of Warcraft Cataclysm features the return of Deathwing the Destroyer, an evil dragon last seen in Warcraft II. Having previously suffered from a horrible defeat, Deathwing returns from the elemental plane of Depholm to plot his revenge, tearing through Azeroth’s dimensional barrier, reshaping a huge chunk of the world’s surface through creation of a sweeping cataclysm.
Other major characters in the Warcraft Lore are planned to return as well. Figures like Ragnaros, Nefarian, and Onyxia are expected to make their re-entrance in Cataclysm as well. Ragnaros, having been defeated in the Molten Core, plans to wage ware on Mount Hyjal with the help of his summoned legions.
It would seem as though World of Warcraft Cataclysm is not short of characters seeking revenge for, Nefarian, son of Neltharion, like Ragnaros and Deathwing, also seeks vengeance for his previous downfall. Having been defeated in the Blackwing Lair, Nefarian will begin anew in the “Blackwing Descent”, which is one of the new dungeons awaiting players in this new Warcraft release.
Blizzard Entertainment expects to deliver a lot of new content in this release, including new quests, new dungeons, new raids, and two new races. The Alliance will get a new “Worgen” race while the Horde will get a new “Goblins” race. The game will feature approximately 3,000 new quests and expanded race/class combinations.
Nine new dungeons and six new raids are planned for this release as well. The level cap on players will be raised to 85. The enhancement is closely related to the two currently existing dungeons, namely Deadmines and Shadowfang Keep, that will get an additional “Heroic Mode” for level 85 players.
The game will feature a new statistics system. This new system removes “mana per five seconds”, defence rating, and armour penetration. These traits will instead be re-integrated as talents. New statistics will be added like Master, enhancing active and passive abilities in such as way that depends on a player’s individual characteristics.
In addition to “in-game” features and enhancements, World of Warcraft Cataclysm plans to take advantaged of a totally-revamped Battle.net, a community platform that is being integrated into other Blizzard titles like Diablo III and StarCraft II.
World of Warcraft Cataclysm was officially announced for release on August 21, 2009, at BlizzCon. How, its publisher, Activision Blizzard, leaked out unofficial news of the release months beforehand. In fact, Alpha testing for the title began on May 3, four months prior to the official announcement. Invitations for closed beta testing were sent to Battle.net gamers a month later.
It is planned for online play on both the Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X desktop platforms.
According to the experts who work on Diablo 3, this version will have improved features compared to the earlier releases of Diablo. As it is already a favorite game for many players, especially for its horror-filled experience while playing, the game is sure to hike up the expectations of diablo players.
The MAX Diablo 3 trainer helps to understand the game and guides the player in terms of winning mode. For a player with a passion for gaming; but with no idea on ‘how to play’ Diablo 3, here comes with the MAX Diablo 3 trainers with its guidance at every level of the game. This guide is very professional enough to help you identify the ways of winning the game.
In addition to the enhancement in various features, Diablo 3 has an improved version of ‘Identify’ compared to Diablo 2. This ‘Identify’ feature helps to find out the name of the character or item during the course of the play. The special stone available in the game helps to identify armor and weapons for the players in an effective way.
Diablo 3 focuses on more intangibles. In fact, Diablo 3 is more moody, atmospheric, creepy, horror-filled game than Diablo II. Interesting news for diablo fans is that, Diablo 3 has the option of male and female characters for all the classes with havoc-powered physics. Battle.net is upgraded in this version. So for all these enrichments, comes the guide which helps to choose and separate the character levels in order to avoid the danger zones on prior hand before going into the game.
Internet is primary option to search for these kinds of trainers and download them. Yet CDs and books are also available as pre-releases in stores that help the players to learn the step by step process of configuring and also learning the tactics involved in the play.
They also provide suggestions on how to protect your PC from hacking and also to get cheat codes. These guides help the players with tips and hints of handling the game in a smarter way. As the Diablo is pretty tricky, it attracts the players who would like to take up a challenge for their IQ. The game is likely to suit MAC as well as Windows OS.
Hence, it is advisable to go through various guide books or forums available online to learn various ploys in it. The game will be surely interesting after learning these methods. This suits both for the beginner of Diablo 3 and Diablo fans as well. So, install; go through the cook books and guides; play a trial game using the trainers on how to win the game; gather more gold and finally experience the thrill of Diablo3. Enjoy gaming!

Are you waiting to know interesting information about the recent Diablo 3 guides?
My name is Zach, and I am a World of Warcraft addict. Well, I was anyway, but it’s always said you remain an addict even after you quit. Yes, for five years I played the immensely popular MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game), until I finally quit. I don’t have any regrets though, and I still hold great affection for that game. And even though I have stopped playing WoW, I still play Blizzard Enterainment’s other games. Blizzard is one of the most successful video game companies, and starting in October they will be holding their annual convention, BlizzCon. Blizz Con 2010 promises to be an exciting event for anybody that loves Blizzard’s games and, judging by the fact that Blizzcon tickets are already sold out, it’s going to be a packed event. This will be the convention’s fifth year, and this year’s event will once again be held at the Anaheim Convention Center in–wait for it–Anaheim, CA. Needless to say, I am excited for Blizz Con 10, even if I will not be attending, and my co-workers at MetroFlats.com are equally as excited. Now, before I get into a description of what to expect at BlizzCon this year, I wanted to mention that MetroFlats.com has a dedicated BlizzCon page that will direct you to our Anaheim vacation rentals and sublets, as well as giving you some info about the event. So please check that out if you have not yet found a place to stay for BlizzCon 2010.
So what goes on at BlizzCon? Well, a lot of things. But I’m guessing you want actual specifics, right? Well, if you insist. For most fans, the chance to see and try out upcoming Blizzard titles is one of the main attractions. At Blizz Con 10, fans will get a chance to demo Diablo III and World of Warcraft: Cataclysm. Aside from this, gamers will get a chance to participate in BlizzCon discussion panels with Blizzard developers. Along with the chance to ask whatever burning questions you might have, you will also get to see first hand how the developers go about developing their games. There will also be Starcraft II tournaments, and past BlizzCons have featured a live World of Warcraft raids.
But BlizzCon isn’t all about just playing games. There is also the Blizz Con costume contest, and previous conventions have featured musical guests, like Ozzy Osbourne during BlizzCon 09. All attendees will also receive a goodie bag, filled with awesome gifts like a special in-game pet you can use for World of Warcraft and in-game items for Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty. And maybe most important of all, BlizzCon 2010 is a chance for you to interact with fellow gamers from around the world, making it a fantastic social experience. So if you are planning on heading to BlizzCon this year, but still need a place to stay, please consider MetroFlats.com vacation rentals and sublets. Happy gaming everybody!

Blizzcon 2010 was devoid of any major announcement versus our expectation around announcement about Diablo III launch and the next expansion pack of Starcraft 2. The show, even bigger than last year with about 40K attendees (versus 25K at Blizzcon 2009) from all over the world despite a tough economic environment reflects on a strong and passionate community of Blizzard gamers, in our opinion and generally makes us positive for upcoming Blizzard games.
We spoke with a number of attendees at the conference and many of those believe that there was not much do in World of Warcraft or WOW nowadays (these gamers have 5-10 characters each within WOW, all leveled to the max level 80). Some of the players had discontinued playing WOW and are waiting for Cataclysm launch when they plan to re-subscribe to WOW service, which confirms our view that the Cataclysm launch could bring back some old users and drive up revenue performance.
The company seems to have completed development for Cataclysm for Chinese markets as well (and likely in accordance with the Chinese government guidelines as per the feedback on the previous expansion pack Wrath of Lich King). Given the company’s stable partnership with NetEase and given our view of improving regulatory environment in China, we would expect to see Cataclysm launch in China within a year of the U.S. launch (versus 23 months delay from the U.S. launch for Wrath of Lich King and 8 months delay for The Burning Crusade launch in China) The company showed off a few community-created Starcraft 2 mods (i.e. mini games built within Starcraft 2) – Left 2 Die, DoTA, Aiur Chef, and Star Jeweled, which seemed to be well received by audience and reflects on the potential of Battle.net to emerge as a credible online games platform for the publishing third party games.
Despite being hardcore Blizzard fans, many of the users that we spoke to are now playing free-to-play games as well (in particular, many users highlighted Riot Games’ League of Legends or LoL), which reflects on the increasing popularity of the virtual goods model in the West, in our opinion. Interestingly, gamers highlighted that they are spending -150/month on LoL (versus per month for WOW), and for them, the attraction of playing a virtual goods model game was the gameplay experience rather than accessibility (we believe that lower accessibility may be more compelling for the mass audience).
Recall that Riot Games is a portfolio company of Tencent and that Tencent is working on launching League of Legends in China as well.

Realism has been a driving force behind gaming, but games themselves are nothing without the hardware they run on. Without graphics cards we would not be able to experience the immersive virtual worlds we have been spoiled with. There is however a problem with realism; its very resource intensive.
The more game developers try to create more realistic worlds the more current technology is pushed to its limit. If you ask average Joe what realism in gaming is all about they would probably tell you about the graphics, but any gamer knows graphics are nothing if the world they render is skin deep. This is where physics comes into play. Physics have been present in games in some form since the start. Take Pong for example; two paddles on each side of the screen bounce a ball between them, if the ball lands at a certain angle with the paddle going at a certain speed then the resulting bounce will be relative to those variables.
Physics is actually a lot simpler than any explanation can make it, the simplest way to describe how game physics should work is by looking at the real world. This is what game developers have been doing for years; trying to bring real world to the virtual.
Cry Havok
There are two elements to game physics; namely the hardware and the engine. There are two main physics engines at present, these are Havok and PhysX. Havok’s physics engine is unsurprisingly designed by Havok, it was first released back in 2000 and is currently on its 6th version which was released in August 2008. Havok has been used in over 200 game titles; these include Company of Heroes, Soul Calibur IV, and the upcoming StarCraft II and Diablo III. Havok is released to developers (after they pay a license fee of course) as a Software Development Kit also known as an SDK. This SDK allows developers to use the engine in all aspects of their game that require physics. Havok physics is in fact such a successful engine that it has been integrated into the PlayStation, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, PSP Nintendo Wii, and the Xbox 360.
Havok’s success has been due to its easy implementation not only by game designers but also by movie studios. Havok proudly lists on its site a few on the movies that the Havok physic SDK has been used on, this list includes 10.000BC, X-Men: The Last Stand, and Troy. Havok also quotes on their site the numerous compliments that its engines have received from some of the major development studios. These studios include LucasArts, Bungie Studios, Bethesda Studios, Midway, and Irrational Games.
The competition to Havok is PhysX. PhysX was the start of all the physics commotion. Ageia burst onto the scene touting their new hardware and engine as the greatest thing since sliced bread, unfortunately some people believed them. Not long after the launch of the Ageia PhysX card and the accompanying SDK in 2006 game developers quickly started incorporating the engine into their games.
One of the most notable games at the time was Tom Clancy’s Advanced Warfighter. Ironically Havok claimed that Warfighter used the Havok engine. While Havok was not hardware dependent and therefore could run on any system configuration, PhysX was proprietary and therefore coded to run on specific hardware, namely the Ageia PhysX card. In the beginning the hardware was the Ageia PhysX card but since Nvidia’s buy out of Ageia all CUDA enabled Nvidia graphics cards are capable of utilizing the PhysX SDK. A few gentlemen on the internet have however hacked drivers and have gotten PhysX to run on a couple of HD4870′s.
PhysX has an impressive list of titles under its belt but before the take-over by Nvidia there was very little reason to warrant the purchase of an expensive Physics Processing Unit (PPU). The frame rate hit in the beginning was a shock to some, but after a few tweaks there was new hope for the foundling tech. Unfortunately in the long run, a frame rate boost was too little too late and hardly the point of the PPU, namely to provide more interaction in the virtual world without any performance degradation.
Since the acquisition of Ageia by Nvidia there has been hope for those who wanted a PPU and were unable to afford one. Nvidia released CUDA, which takes advantage of the unified architecture of the 8-series and all subsequent series GPUs and allows the system to use the processing capabilities of the GPU in a more general application such as physics. This approach turns the GPU into a GPGPU (GenerahPurpose processing on Graphics Processing Unit). What this basically means is that if you have a few clock cycles to spare then why not throw some more calculations at the GPU and score a more realistic environment because of it. That would be the Utopian idea, however the facts are that if you want PhysX to work on your Nvidia GPU then you best have at least two of them.
AMD, the swing vote…
With the acquisition of Ageia by Nvidia and Havok by Intel, AMD was left to decide which side it wanted to fight on and in this case they chose the devil they knew. It seems that AMD prefer Havok even though Nvidia made PhysX an open standard in March 2008. While AMD has its own SDK available this is more for its own FireStream cards which are not targeted at the consumer market but rather high performance computing sectors such as medical and finance.
AMD and Intel have been working on improved implementations of Havok on the hardware level; this alone should be a statement of epic proportions. Does Nvidia’s PhysX really stand a chance if both of the largest microprocessor manufacturers are supporting the competition? AMD’s decision to stick with Havok is probably due to Havok’s maturity as an engine, and that it was more ‘open’ than PhysX, which kept in line with AMD’s market strategy. AMD has said that it sees no reason to switch to PhysX at this point but as true to form they didn’t deny the future potential.
Newton’s four horsemen
The simulation of real world Newtonian physics is a partnership between hardware and software. While the SDKs and APIs can pass the information onto the hardware, the hardware itself must be capable of handling the immense calculations required to provide this realism factor. In the world of physics hardware there are four options; namely: Ageia, Nvidia, AMD, and Intel. Ageia is now redundant thanks to Nvidia, who AMD are copying while Intel is reinventing the wheel.
An interesting state of affairs when considering that Havok is for now limited to CPUs. Fear not though for as you read this, very smart people are punching away at their keyboards, hammering out code that will move current Havok calculations from the CPU to the GPU changing the landscape once again and justifying AMD working so closely with the Havok team.
So where does Intel fall into the picture? Well the answer is two-fold. Firstly as owners of Havok they benefit from AMD’s interest and support, having a major GPU player supporting your software is just the kind of support that a company needs when their competition is in a similar situation. AMD GPUs are present in two of the three major gaming consoles. It is this pressure that might see developers adopt Havok instead of PhysX.
Larrabee all that you can be
Intel’s upcoming GPU, Larrabee is rumored to be the next big thing in GPU design. Intel has designed Larrabee from the ground up to be a GPU based on the x86 instruction set. What this means is instead of simplistic stream processors found in current GPUs, Larrabee will be hypothetically 8, 16 or 32 CPU cores speculatively based on the new Core 17 fab process. These CPU cores are all based on the old Pentium design and even though they have been updated to support x86-64 are unable to achieve out-of-order execution. Since these are CPU cores they would require an entirely new approach to graphics meaning that while GPUs are trying to be CPUs, the opposite is also taking place. Larrabee is based on x86 CPUs. This will make the transition for Havok a lot smoother as it currently works on the same platform. Intel has hinted that Larrabee will be capable of the absurdly illusive art of real-time Ray Tracing amongst others, something GPUs have never been powerful enough to achieve. Details are still sketchy but the graphics world is holding its breath to see if a multi-core CPU can be a GPU and if so, what API it would use.
Long story short, if they get it right, Intel will have the hardware capable of doing physics calculations and thanks to their acquisition of Havok they will be laughing all the way to the bank if Larrabee is launched capable of GPU and PPU tasks.
How will the Apple Fall?
Things are not as cut and dry as they appear. Information is sketchy regarding some deals but it seems that AMD could have also adopted PhysX. The challenge that developers face is whether they should code for Havok or PhysX; this little choice could spell disaster for both. Some speculate that developers could start calling for Microsoft to write a physics API into DirectX because supporting a single universal API is easier than supporting two. An API war could see one side, or even both, making their API fully open in an attempt to lure developers and make it a standard.
This sort of competition is good for consumers in the long run but unfortunately will leave early adopters cursing if it doesn’t go in their favor. Whichever way you slice it, physics is still young, and like graphics of old, requires time to mature. Hopefully in a year or two the future of physics will be a clear path and consumers can spend their hard earned money on technology that they can actually use.
